Futur Antérieur, Le futur antérieur
The futur antérieur (future perfect) describes an action that will have been completed before another future action. It is equivalent to 'will have done' in English. It is formed with the future tense of avoir or être + past participle.
Rules
Formation: subject + avoir/être (futur simple) + past participle
Avoir (futur): j'aurai, tu auras, il aura, nous aurons, vous aurez, ils auront
Être (futur): je serai, tu seras, il sera, nous serons, vous serez, ils seront
Same rules for être vs avoir as passé composé
Often used with 'quand', 'lorsque', 'dès que', 'aussitôt que'
Examples
J'aurai fini avant midi. (I will have finished before noon.)
Quand tu arriveras, je serai déjà parti. (When you arrive, I will have already left.)
Nous aurons mangé avant le spectacle. (We will have eaten before the show.)
Elle sera rentrée à 20h. (She will have returned by 8pm.)
Ils auront terminé le projet demain. (They will have finished the project tomorrow.)
Dès que j'aurai lu ce livre, je te le prêterai. (As soon as I have read this book, I will lend it to you.)
